Garajau is the perfect village for a holiday in Madeira , it has a wide range of shops, bars and restaurants all on you door step including a supermarket and easy access to the motorway for exploring the island as well as a good bus service should you decide not to hire a car, which takes you straight to Funchal to explore the city. The newly developed beach at Garajau is a natural reserve, and excellent for diving and snorkeling in its crystal clear waters, and the restaurant on the beach is very popular for its fish dishes. Here you will also see the statue of Cristo Rei another very popular attraction on the island. Close by you have the beach at Reis Magos which has plenty of bathing areas and shade from the sun if you prefer. Opposite you have hotel Dom Pedro for some nightly entertainment of traditional dance and live music, check in reception to see whats on.
