On this page im going to share with you some of my favourite places to eat and drink in Madeira where you wont pay "Tourist Prices" and i will also give tips on places to avoid.
If you have had a good or bad eating experience i would love to hear from you, so i can add the information to this page to help others enjoy their holiday in Madeira.

Rubi Restaurant
Great little restaurant in the Forum area, Lunch time they do plate of the day with at least 3 choices, for around 5 euros.
In the evening the restaurant serves a good choice of meals at good prices, and save room for the homemade creme caramel pudding...
Bar Viola
My Favorite Place to eat. This restaurant does the traditional Espetada (beef on skewer) The chicken or sausages are also very good , and the salad is excellent. Eat with Chips Milho and a jug of sangria.
Bar Viola is in Estreito de Camara de Lobos, on the right hand side going up just before you get to the village.
Snack Bar
O Mercantil
Great little snack bar in Funchal, Cheap food and drinks, be sure to try the Sopa de Trigo (wheat Soup) on a Thursday lunchtime. The owner speaks English, and is on Rua do Esmeraldo.
